Timing is everything

Most older adults will need some additional support later in life to complete the tasks of daily living and stay healthy. They are often the first to sense decline; but, many refrain from “burdening” their children with the news.

“Brain change”, as Snow Approach (snowapproach.org) likes to call it, including dementia, will double in the next decade.

In some cases, it’s been a while since boomers have visited their loved ones in person. Accordingly, there has been limited opportunity to detect declining competencies.

Examples: doors left unlocked, foods with expired dates, missed bills, forgetting when they last bathed, bruising they don’t remember. Would they have the presence of mind to dial “911” for help?

Wayne Gretzky, who some consider to be the greatest hockey player ever, once said. “The idea is not to go where the puck is, but to go where the puck is going.”

Be proactive.

Avoid last-minute, information overload and the emotional labor of rushing.

I can help.

Comprehensive and complimentary.
